Privacy policy
Nothing leaves your phone.
TimeBorn is a counter. It needs one fact, when you were born, and it keeps that fact on your device. It does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no network connection of any kind.

What the app stores
Everything below is stored only on your device and never leaves it:
- Your date of birth. Entered once during setup, editable later. Stored in the app's private preferences so the app can count your age.
- Your choices. Which widget and wallpaper styles you picked, the decimal precision, and the timer's position and size on your wallpaper. Also stored in the app's private preferences.
- A copy of the wallpaper photo you pick. When you choose a photo for the live wallpaper, TimeBorn copies it into its own private app storage so it can be drawn reliably behind the timer. That copy is readable only by TimeBorn, is never uploaded, and is deleted when you pick a different image or uninstall the app.
What the app does not do
- It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data.
- It has no internet access. The released app does not request the
INTERNETpermission, so it is technically incapable of sending anything anywhere. There are no servers, and nothing to send. - It contains no analytics, crash-reporting, or telemetry SDKs.
- It shows no advertising and uses no ad identifiers.
- It does not access your location, contacts, camera, or microphone.
- It includes no third-party SDKs that collect data.
- It does not require an account and never asks for your name or email.
Permissions
TimeBorn requests one permission:
- Run at startup (
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) lets the home-screen widget start counting again after you restart your phone. Android grants it at install without a prompt. Nothing is transmitted.
Choosing a wallpaper image uses the Android system photo picker. The app receives only the single image you select; it has no broader access to your photo library. The live wallpaper is a standard Android wallpaper service, so Android's own "Set wallpaper" confirmation is the only step, and it needs no permission from you.
Backup
If you have Android backup enabled, your settings (birth date and style choices) may be included in your device's backup to your own Google account, under Google's terms. The cached wallpaper image is explicitly excluded from backup. TimeBorn itself neither operates nor can read that backup.
Children
TimeBorn contains no ads, no purchases, and no data collection, and is safe for all ages. It collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
Deleting your data
Everything the app stores lives inside its private storage on your device. Uninstalling TimeBorn, or clearing its data from Android settings, removes all of it. There is no server copy, because there is no server.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever starts doing something this page does not describe, this page will change first, with a new date at the top.
